For a while, we have been addicted to korean web dramas because there are a variety of them and most importantly, they are short and sweet. So, here we are going to list four of our favorite web dramas.
1. It's Okay to be Sensitive
When we first thought of making this list , this series was the first one to come to mind because it's one of a kind. It touches upon "common" issues that girls/women face in the society, which are usually dismissed by the society as overreaction and being sensitive. It deals with girls being labelled as over sensitive (which is not the case, as shown in the series), sexual harassment, how feminism is distorted into female supremacy, girls "overthinking" about everything and how they are shamed even if they are the victims. Most importantly, it also shows how to react when one is in such situations. This drama is a breath of fresh air because we are so used to girls being portrayed as weak, or as crazy, obsessive and high maintenance girlfriends, wives, etc. So, when we first saw this series, it was very relatable. It has a second season too, and we recommend both of them.
2. XX
Another favorite of ours, this drama focuses mainly on the friendship between the
two female leads (Nana and Roomi ), how they go from best friends, to enemies, back to friends again. They rebuild their friendship very naturally, instead of just becoming bffs in 2 seconds again. The thing we liked about it is that both the girls are strong, independent, and deal with their problems very maturely (very cool and charismatic). Dan hee is a cutie pie who had us rooting for him all the way. Also, the friendship between Nana and Jayden had us wishing we had one such friend too (ugh, where can I buy one?). It has superb cinematography and aesthetics, which we fell in love with. It is also one of the few dramas which has an openly gay character. Totally recommend this one too.
3. The Way I Hate You
It is one of those cliché dramas with a contract relationship. The female lead (Mi Ri)
is cute and sweet. The male lead (Dae Gang) had us swooning over him from the beginning to the end. The friendship between the girls had us desire for one too. The two leads gradually grow closer and by the end of the drama, you will be wanting more of the two leads ( not enough!!!). If you are a fan of romance dramas, you are definitely going to like this drama.
4. Love Playlist
If you are a fan of campus romance dramas, this is definitely the one to watch. It has 4 seasons as of today. It would be an understatement to say that you will be rooting for each of the couples in this series; all the friendships and relationships in this drama are desirous. In addition, the quality of the entire series is on the same level as a movie. We recommend all the seasons of this drama too!
As of now, we are sharing four of our favorite web series. We have a long list to share, so please look forward to it.
