Our Favorites: Albums and E.Ps (part 2)

So this took a while, but here we are with the continuation of our Favorite Albums and EPs! There were so many to choose from, but with so many good comebacks these days, we felt nostalgic and decided to throw in a few older albums, too.

1. Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo - A.R. Rahman

A.R. Rahman's music is just *chef's kiss*. That's it. There are literally no other words to describe it, and his soundtrack for the movie Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo is easily one of our favorites. We usually listen to the Telugu version, but there's a Tamil version of the album too (the movie is bilingual), and this is definitely one of those albums that HAVE to be listened to while on a long drive.

2. mono. - RM

The Second Mixtape by RM (or Playlist as he called it) has a Moody, Melo and Dark theme. This album is about him self-reflecting about his choices and loneliness, and has tracks collaborated with London duo Honne ('seoul'), K-Indie Rock band Nell ('everythingoes') and eAeon ('badbye'). A relatable album with rainy day vibes, it really feels like getting a warm hug.

3. Maria- Hwa Sa

2020 is shaping up to be a pretty horrible year, BUT we did get some amazing music out of it! Hwa Sa released her first EP, Maria, and it was incredible. Every song is so good, and knowing that the album is made "of her sweat and tears"

makes it even better.

4. Cle 1: Miroh - Stray Kids

Composing and producing their own albums since pre-debut, Stray Kids have shown their unique colour and have proved themselves time and time again. They been talk about young adult problems in their songs, which are so relatable to the present day youth. We would definitely recommend this (and all the others) album by Skz. Also, this album got them their first win!

5. Call My Name- Got7

Got7 never disappoints with their albums, and Call My Name is a gem. Though they do not have full artistic freedom to put out their tracks in their own style, it has never stopped them from producing bops after bops. The title track, 'You Calling My Name' has a unique theme and is produced by JB as well. The B-sides are also must listen songs, with JB showing his talents on the tracks 'Thursday' and 'Pray' as well.

6. PEOPLE - CODE KUNST

This is CODE KUNST's 4th full length Studio Album with 16 tracks, and is a tribute to all the people who have supported him till date. The album has featurings from all our favotite artists, inlcuding most of the AOMG gang and rappers like Jvcki Wai, Kid Milli and Gaeko. Code Kunst has his own genre of music, and this album is just the perfect example of it; it's just ART.

7. The Book Of Us: Entropy- DAY6

This album is LOVE. The entire Book of Us series is one of the best series. All of them were bops and it made us so happy that the albums were popular among the general public as well. While the title track, 'Sweet Chaos' gave us anime OST slash retro-sad romance vibes, we also got fun tracks like 'Emergency' and '365247', and 'Like a flowing wind' in a ballad-style. Overall, this album definitely shows off DAY6's versatility as a band.

8. Before we begin- Eric Nam

Eric Nam's first full length English album! A celebration of bitter truths and lingering feelings, the whole album is a vibe, with bops like Congratulations and Come Through and even has the English version of his hits 'Runaway' and 'Honestly' (No Shame in English).

9. O Kadhal Kanmani- A.R. Rahman

Started this list with an A.R. Rahman album, it only seemed fit that we end (for now) with another! OK Kanmani is a beautiful movie with an equally beautiful soundtrack; one of the songs (Maula Wa Sallim) is even sung by A.R. Ameen, Rahman's son, as well! There's also Parandhu Sella Vaa (the link below), which is in A capella style. Honestly, AR can make any song in any style!
