Mystery, Mystery... Our Favorite Mystery Novels!

November means Fall and Fall means Hot Cocoa and Tea and all that good stuff (hang on while we break out the #darkacademia aesthetic). And what better than a good 'ol whodunit on a cold, fall day? Here we are with out favorite mystery novels!

🔍🔍🔍

An old childhood fave, Who stole Halloween is the 2nd book in Martha Freeman's Chikadee Court Mysteries. It's about Yasmeen and Alex and how they solve the mystery of a catnapper, who miiight be a ghost!

Nancy Drew was the start for our love of mysteries and the OG Girl Detective has been around for years! In case you didn't know, Carolyn Keene is a pseudonym, so, many authors write under that name; which is the coolest part of this character- no two stories are ever the same!

Known for his logical reasoning, eye for detail and his handsome mustache, Hercule Poirot is one of Agatha Christie's best creations, and Five Little Pigs is one of the best books in the Poirot series.

Elementary, Watson! Who doesn't know of Sherlock Holmes? While Arthur Conan Doyle has published many short stories, there are only 4 full length Sherlock Holmes novels, and The Valley Fear is the Doyle's last one.

If you've seen the movie Drishyam, then this story might feel familiar, but trust us, the book is even better. The Devotion of Suspect X is one of the books in the Detective Kaga series, about Kaga, a physics professor, who also solves mysteries. Keigo Higashino has an amazing style, with the most baffling of mysteries written so cleverly.

This is a book we happened to stumble upon in our school's library! And thus, we were introduced to another OG detective, Perry Mason. Well, technically, he's a lawyer, who uses his wits (and charm) to prove his client's innocence.

Now that we've gone through some oldies (but goldies), let's move onto some of the latest mystery works! A Good Girl's Guide To Murder follows Pippa, as she researches a murder in her neighborhood, and discovers that the real killer might still be out there...

A second book in the series was released recently, and we can't wait to read it!

A historical mystery, set in 1800s Korea, it's about Seol, a 16-year-old orphan girl who assists the inspector in a murder investigation.

It was really interesting to read a novel set in this particular period of time, and we're eager to see more from this author!

Now this is *the* series for mystery lovers- It's got a secluded private school and not one but TWO mysteries interwoven together! Stevie gets into a private school, where she gets the opportunity to solve an old cold case- a murder-kidnap by someone named 'Truly Devious'. But just as Stevie starts to unravel the mystery, it appears that Truly is back...

Another interwoven mystery, it follows Julia Hart as she revisits a series of old stories written by the reclusive author, Grant McAllister, and discovers a bunch of inconstancies within them- inconstancies, or clues?

We also get the 8 mystery stories written by Grant, making it a "nesting doll of stories", making it a perfect mystery on a fall day.
