Penguin is a trilingual film starring Keerty Suresh, released on Amazon Prime, on June 19th. It's a thriller film, and the trailer seemed alright, so naturally I was curious to see what the movie would be like.
The film is about Rhythm (Keerty Suresh) who is seven months pregnant. It is revealed that 6 years ago her first child Ajay was kidnapped by someone, but neither him nor the kidnapper were ever found. One night, Rhythm finds him, but turns out the kidnapper is not ready to let him go. Who kidnaps Ajay and why? That is the crux of the story.
Honestly the only thing good about this film was Keerty Suresh's acting. Everything else: TOTAL STUPIDITY!
Everything was wrong in this movie, from the police procedures to the villain's reasons for kidnapping Ajay. And don't even get me started on the heroine; she says "im just pregnant, not brain dead", but her actions during the entire movie prove otherwise.
Some things I just HAD to rant about:

Ajay returns clearly scarred and abused, and yet the police appear to be least bothered about the psychotic kidnapper on the loose?
And ugh the police! All they did was contaminate all the evidence they found (facepalm).
At one point Rhythm tries to attempt suicide. Her friends' way of consoling her? Comparing the loss/possible murder of her child to their friend's rejection by a guy! And then, basically telling her to get over it because "everyone has struggles in their life". Um WHAT?
Honestly the biggest thing that killed me was that SHE JUST WOULDN'T CALL! THE! FREAKING! POLICE! I mean, sis finds a piece of BLOODY CLOTH and decides to follow her dog into the serial killer's lair?!?!

There are soooo many other things, but if I listed everything out, we'd be here forever.
Verdict:
Overall this movie had me super stressed out and the only thing calming down is writing this rant about it lol.
I would not recommend this unless
1)Are a die-hard fan of Keerty Suresh and
2)You'd like to shout at your tv/computer/phone the entire time.
